The Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation is thrilled to announce they have been awarded a piece of steel from the World Trade Center to be used in a public memorial. The steel is approximately four feet tall and will be transported to the Charlotte area on Friday, February 25th. The Foundation will unveil and display it in the Charlotte’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 19th.
The steel beam will travel in the parade and then there will be a hands-on display following the parade sponsored by Connolly’s on 5th Street near their establishment. We are proud to be able to honor and “never forget” those that we lost.
